Jesus Died For Everyone, But Not Everyone Is Saved

At Easter time many people's thoughts are on the crucifixion of Jesus and his ressurection three days later, and many people take it for granted that that means everyone in the world is going to heaven since he died for all mankind, but that's not actually true.

1 John 2:2: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
It's true that Jesus did die for everyone and that he is the propitiation for the sins of the whole world, but only those who accept His free gift of mercy are saved and have eternal life.  Jesus' death, burial, and ressurection made it possible for anyone in the world to be saved, but only the people who put their faith in him as their own personal sin bearer are saved.

In John 3:16 it says "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH in him should not perish, but have everlasting life".
There are many, many, many people in the world today who do not even believe there is a Jesus, let alone trust him as their own personal saviour, so obviously not everyone in the world is going to heaven just because Jesus died for all the sins of the world.

I John 5:12: "He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life." So plainly from this verse it is very clear that some people have Jesus and some people don't. And, notice how it says "He that hath the Son" and not "he that hath religion." Salvation is not through any type or any kind of religion whatsoever. Salvation is in a person. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only saviour. John 14:6 says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life:, no man cometh unto the father but by me."

Many people in America and other countries believe that Jesus is the Son of God, but they have never been born again.

John 3:3 says "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God". You can believe someone is a good doctor without going to him, or you could believe someone is a good lawyer without trusting him to handle your case. That is the same way it is with Jesus; it's not just believing about him, but believing on Him and trusting him to apply the payment made for your sins to your own life.

If someone offered you a million dollars and you didn't take it, then it wouldn't be yours. Jesus has already done everything that needs to be done and offers you the free gift of salvation. Now it is up to you if you will take it or refuse it.

John 6:35: And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life; he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. So the bread of life is available to everyone, but only those who come to Jesus and receive it, will be partakers of this bread of life.

Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

If you would like to come to Jesus today and receive this free gift of salvation which was purchased by his own blood on the cross, you may pray something like this, realizing it is not mere words that save, but your faith in Jesus Christ.

Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I know I deserve to go to Hell. But I believe that you died on the cross, were buried, and rose from the grave to pay for my sins. Please save me right now and give me eternal life. I am only trusting you Jesus. Amen

Savior On The Cross

Jesus carried his heavy cross to Calvary
It was all because of his great love for you and me
Cruel men did mock him and spit in his face
He endured it all because he was taking our place

It was our sin that put him on the cross that day
Dying for our sins so we would not have to pay
It was his love that kept him nailed to the tree
So we could be forgiven and in Heaven one day be

If he had not paid that tremendous price for us
There would simply be no hope because
It took the blood of the sinless Lamb of God to pay for all
For all the sins of the world since the Adam and Eve fall

If we had to pay for our own sins, we would have to go to Hell
It is such a horrible place with fire, that it breaks my heart to tell
That is where there is gnashing of teeth and weeping and wailing
But Jesus paid for our sins and his love is unfailing

When he suffered on the cross and bled and died
"Truly this was the Son of God" some cried
After that he was in the tomb for three days and then arose
The payment did suffice and eternal life to believers he bestows

When I get to Heaven I am going to tell Jesus
"Thank you for all you did for me.
I don't deserve to be here
But you saved me mercifully"

If you do not know Jesus personally, just trust in his sacrifice for you
Just ask him to be your savior and you can have eternal life too

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon he name of the Lord shall be saved.

Does It Really Matter What You Believe

The answer is - It means everything what you believe. Your eternal destiny depends upon what you believe. A lot of people say "It doesn't really matter what you believe as long as you are sincere," but that is not actually the truth. There is a popular phrase nowadays that says, "Just believe, just have faith". But the question is - believe what or have faith in who. The what is a saviour from sin, and the who is Jesus Christ.

The bible says to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven.

John 14:6: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Mark 1:15: And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Repent means agreeing with God that you are a sinner who needs mercy and to believe the gospel of how Jesus died for our sins and rose again the third day for payment for them. Believing this, you then put your trust in Jesus and receive him as your very own savior.

John 3:16: For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 3:36: He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Notice how it says that he who doesn't believe on Jesus, the Son, has the wrath of God abiding on him. So you can see, therefore, how much it does matter what you believe. It's a matter of eternal life or the eternal wrath of God.

John 20:31: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

When You Believe

When you believe
it changes how you perceive
You begin to understand
only by God's grace will you see the promised land

When you believe
God's gift of salvation you receive
You understand your sinful heart needs to be cleaned
and only by Jesus' shed blood can you be redeemed

When you believe
Satan can no longer deceive
You understand the gift of eternal life is free
since Jesus died for your sins upon the cruel tree

When you believe
the burden of your sin is relieved
your darkness turns to light
and your black heart washed pure white

When you believe, when you believe, all things become new,
you become God's child, one of His redeemed few

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

Who Is Condemned To Hell

Who is condemned to Hell? Most people would probably think of people who are really bad, like murderers, etc., but the bible has a different answer. The bible says in

John 3:18: "He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." The only thing you have to do to be condemned is to just be alive and have never put your trust in Jesus to save you. We are all sinners, no matter how much or how little. It is only by God's grace and mercy that we could ever be saved from the condemnation that is sentenced upon us. No one is good enough to go to heaven on their own merit.

We are saved when we trust in Jesus and believe on his name, as the verse in John 3:18 says that
"He that believeth on him is not condemned."

But what does it mean to believe on Jesus? It means you acknowledge that you are a sinner and are condemned already and then put your trust in Jesus and believe in your heart that he died for your sins, paying the price for them, and rose again the third day and went back to Heaven, from where he came.

Putting your trust in Jesus is like putting money in a safe; it wasn't always there, you put it there and are relying on it to keep it there. That's how you put your trust in Jesus and rely on him, not yourself, to get you to heaven. It's that simple, friend. It is not by turning over a new leaf, trusting in your own good works, trying to quit sinning, going to church, keeping the golden rule, or trusting in anything else you could possibly do.   No matter how hard we try to be good, the bible says we all fall short.

Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."
Salvation is a free gift that is paid for by God, purchased with the blood of Jesus Christ.

When we admit we're a sinner and put our trust in what Jesus did for us, we receive God's mercy and are saved from having to pay for our own sins.

So therefore, John 3:18 divides the world into two groups, those who believe and those who believe not. Those who believe are not condemned and those who believe not are already condemned.
John 3:36: He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Remember, to believe on does not mean "Oh yeah, I've always believed in Jesus". It means a certain time in your life when you call upon the Lord to save you, when you put your trust in Jesus, to rely on him and depend on him to get you to heaven and to forgive your sins. The moment you put your trust in him is what the bible calls being "born again", because you are passed from death unto life. You were a lost sinner, condemned and on your way to Hell, now you have Jesus as your saviour and have been given the free gift of eternal life and are on your way to heaven.

John 3:3: Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

John 5:24: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even them that believe on his name.

Romans 10:9-10: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 10:13: For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

If you would like to call upon the name of Jesus and receive him as your saviour you may pray something like this, realizing it is not mere words that save, but your faith in Jesus Christ.

Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I know I deserve to go to Hell. But I believe that you died on the cross, were buried, and rose from the grave to pay for my sins. Please save me and take me to Heaven when I die. Amen

Thoughts On Christian Suffering

James 5:10-11: Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. Behold, we count them happy which endure.
Phillippians 1:29: For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;
Phillippians 3:10: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.
Acts 14:22: Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

The Christian life brings joy unspeakable and full of glory and gives a peace that the world could never give. When we go through tribulations and trials Jesus goes with us. He suffered for us and knows how to comfort us in all our troubles.

John 16:33: These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
I Peter 1:8: Whom having not seen, ye love: in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.
John 14:16-17 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever: Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Matthew 5:4: Blessed are they that mourn; for they shall be comforted.

This is very contrary to what the health, wealth, and prosperity false prophets preach, but this is the way of fellowship with Jesus and great joy and peace and comfort now, and even more joy when we get to Heaven for all eternity.

2 Timothy 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

Joy And Peace

There is a deep peace down within my soul
For I know I've been forgiven and my name's on Heaven's roll
I've got the joy, joy, joy down in my heart
for my savior did not forsake me, he's been there from the start

He has always been with me since I first believed
and so many blessings from him I have received
My savior kept me in his hand like he promised he would
and when I could not understand he worked it out for good

At times when my journey on earth seemed to be long
he upheld me in his arms and gave to me a song
Praise the Lord, Jesus stayed with me to the very end
He was there through the rough times and his love he did extend

Words cannot express how I love my savior so
for his tender mercies do forever continuously flow
He remembered me when my way I could not find
He was there all the time and I was always on his mind

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Beware Of Sharon Slaton Howell And Christian Science

Not everyone who says the name of Jesus is a true born again child of God. Christian Science is a false religion which is based upon the teachings of Mary Baker Eddy and not upon the scriptures of the Holy Bible. Many false religions carry the name "Christian".

There is only one way to be a true Christian and that is by understanding in your heart that you are a sinner who deserves to go to Hell for eternity, and to put your trust and faith all upon Jesus, the only begotten son of God, as your sin bearer. It means to put all your faith in what he did on the cross when he suffered and shed his blood for your sins and rose again the third day, and to have no faith in anything you do, such as religion, good life, baptism, church membership, etc. Salvation is a free gift given to those who accept it by putting their faith in Christ as savior, believing on his name, and trusting only in him alone and nothing else. As the song goes, "Jesus paid it all, all to him I owe. Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow."

1 Corinthians 15:3: For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4: And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures;

No one is born a Christian or has "always believed." The bible says we become Christians.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Believing on Christ is a choice that we make, to either accept him or reject him. God loves everyone and wants everyone to believe on his Son.  Believing on Jesus means to trust, rely on, depend on.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believed in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Acts 16:30-31: And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Reasons Christian Scientists are not saved or Christians:

1. They don't believe in sin.

Romans 5:12: Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.

2. They don't believe in Heaven or Hell, and also do not believe in death.

Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Revelation 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

Christian Science teaches: "Heaven is the self-made eternal bliss of realizing oneness with God. "Hell" is the self-made anguish of believing in pain and death. Heaven and hell are states of mind."
The lake of fire is not a state of mind; it is real place where unsaved people go, where there is real pain. God does not want us to go there; that is why He gave his Son to die on the cross and arise again the third day to pay our sin penalty for us.

3. They don't believe that Jesus is God in the flesh.

1 John 2:22: Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

23: Whoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father; he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

1 John 4 :1: Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2: Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God;

3: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

II John 7: For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

8: Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

9: Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

10: If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

11: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

4. They don't believe Jesus died on the cross.

Mary Baker Eddy states, "Christ was not crucified...Jesus, being the man who possessed the Christ consciousness, was the one who went to the cross and who appeared to die. Thus, when the Bible appears to say that Jesus died on the cross and His body was laid in the tomb, it must be understood, according to the theology of Christian Science, that Jesus actually never died but was rather in the tomb, denying death's reality."
1 Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures.

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Acts 4:10 Be it known unto you all and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

Hebrews 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

Acts 26:23 That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.

5. They don't believe in sickness or pain; it is just an illusion.

1 Corinthians 11:27 In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

Revelations 21:4: And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

In Heaven is where pain will cease completely (for the saved), not on this earth.

In conclusion, Christian Science is a false religion.

Galatians 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

1 John 10: If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

11: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
