Yes, I am a Christian, AND A CHURCH GOING CHRISTIAN TOO!

Sometimes people will say to Christians who go to church, "And you call yourself a Christian!" Yes, I am a Christian because I'm saved, and I also love Christians. I would not backbite my brothers and sisters in Christ because I love them like the bible says we're supposed to. I know they are not perfect and I'm not perfect either. We are all actually far from it. The only person in the whole world who was ever perfect is our dear Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. But thankfully, through the forgiveness of our sins and our spirits being quickened by God's grace and mercy to become Christians, we can fellowship with other believers of like precious faith.

I am happy when I can assemble with other born-again children of God, people who also love the Lord and want to serve him and live for him. It is a joy to sit down with others, open our bibles together, and all hear a good sermon from the KJV bible to encourage and edify one another. A good church is like a refuge from the world. It is a place to concentrate on what is really important in life and how to live for Jesus and not the things of earth.

It seems like the whole main theme of the new testament is for brothers and sisters in Christ to love each other. We have a kinship, we're different from the world, we're the called out ones, a peculiar people. I'm thankful for the people who are faithful in attending God's house. Sometimes I think how sad it would be if I went to church and nobody was there.

John 13:35: By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

John 15:12: This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

I John 3:10: In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

I John 3:14: We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren, He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
15: Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

I John 4:20: If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

1 Peter 1:22: Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently.

Going To Church

When young I used to go to church
and loved to hear the preacher speak
I longed to learn God's word
and with my heart his will to seek

I listened to the voice of
The Holy Spirit as he spoke
I longed to do my Savior's will
When alone and my spirit broke

I longed to have my loved ones
and my children by my side
I still think it will be worth it all
When I get across that swelling tide

Help me love some people again
Like I used to love back then
The love that the Holy Spirit
put in my heart for my dear kin

Jesus said his mother and brothers
Are they that do his will
With whom the world does not care
But I do love them still

I thank the Lord for all the
times I had at church
for that is where we met
and the Spirit my soul did search

I'm not ashamed to say that
I love that old church bell
For Jesus said "If you love me,"
You'll love your brother as well

(Written in memory of my first country church I went to when I got saved)

John 13:13 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Don't Offend Anyone

It seems like the main theme in the world today is "Don't offend anyone, accept everyone for who they are. We're all different and we should love all of God creatures." Some even say "We're all God's children." But in all reality that is not true. It is a false statement. We are not all God's children. Only the people that have been born again by putting their trust in Jesus as their own saviour are God's children.

John 1:12: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: The bible clearly states that all people who are not saved are of their father the devil. John 8:43-45: Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. 44: Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. 45; and because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

It is true that God will accept anyone as they are when they come to Him for forgiveness of sins and place their faith in Jesus, but when they do that a miracle takes place in their heart and they then become a new person. They are then acceptable to God because of Christ's shed blood that purchased their salvation.

Ephesians 2:1: And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins: God does not just accept everyone the way they are, like murderers, homosexuals, rebels, etc., or any other sinner whatsoever, and say they are all his children.
If you should say anything to offend anyone, you may quickly be labeled "judgmental". Sometimes it could even be called "hate speech". This is the philosophy of modern society today, but it is totally and absolutely unbliblical as God clearly states in his Word. The bible actually commands us to judge, to judge between the righteous and the wicked.

Malachi 3:18: Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

The bible also tells us to hate the evil and love the good, and this would also involve judgment to know what is good and what is evil.

Amos 5:15: Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.

When Jesus was here on earth he offended people, which is why they tried to kill him on many occasions before it was His time to die on the cross,
(John 8:59: Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by), and Christians today who are living for the Lord are offensive to many people. Luke 6:28: Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets. It is offensive because Satan blinds people's minds into thinking they're okay, they don't need Jesus.

Christians who are salty Christians will offend people. The same salt that enhances flavor is also the salt that irritates and stings when put into a sore or wound.

Matthew 5:13: Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is theneforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

Please don't trust in your own righteousness or good life to get you to heaven. The bible says all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags.

Isaiah 64:6: But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities like the wind, have taken us away. There is only one person who ever lived a good life and who never sinned and that is Jesus. You gain salvation and eternal life  based upon His righteousness.

In conclusion, Jesus didn't come to send peace on earth, but rather division.

Luke 12:51: Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division.

Matthew 10:34: Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Are You Going To Heaven

Do you know how to go to heaven ? The bible tells the way
It's not through anything we could do, we are all sinners gone astray
We cannot change ourselves, our hearts are sinful and black
The bible says we've all gone our own way and are totally off track

There is no way we could ever be good enough, that we know for sure
So God in his great love and mercy provided the perfect cure
He gave the perfect sacrifice that could make our black heart white
It is the precious blood of Jesus, who gave his life to make it right

Jesus shed his blood on Calvary to wash us from our sin
He does all the changing of our heart when we invite him in
Just put your faith in Christ and trust in him alone
His dying on the cross paid it all and did for all our sins atone

Jesus' shed blood will wash your heart and cleanse all sin away
You'll receive the gift of eternal life and in Heaven you will be someday
Just come to Jesus as you are, it was for sinners his blood outpoured
Then you can rest assured you are forgiven and he will be your Lord

Your name will be written down in the Lamb's Book of Life and can never be crossed out
You'll know you're on your way to Heaven and never again have to doubt.

Romans 3:10-12 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way..

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The Reason Jesus Came

by Cindy Wyatt

Jesus didn't come to change the world, but to change sinners that are in the world. Around this time of year there are many bible movies on TV.  It seems like for the most part the message is always Jesus came to change the world. They say things like he taught us how to love one another and keep the golden rule, etc., and to be a good example and teacher. But in all actuality, this is not true. Jesus came to save sinners, not to be a good teacher and example, even though he was, being that he was the perfect sinless Lamb of God. His main purpose, though, in coming to earth was to save sinners who would trust him in their heart for forgiveness of their sins and who would receive his free gift of eternal life which he purchased for us with his own shed blood on the cross and then rose again from the grave. The following is a verse that sums it all up on why Jesus came from heaven to this world of sin.  Luke 19:10: For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.  A lost person is someone who has never put their trust in Jesus alone to be their savior.  If you are reading this and are lost, Jesus is seeking you and wants to save you,

1 Timothy 1:15: This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

Many false religions claim to follow the teachings of Jesus, but without being born again of the spirit, there is no way possible anyone could ever follow the teachings of Jesus because our natural hearts are sinful and black. The first thing that one must do is to trust Jesus as their savior and then God imputes his righteousness to them.

Romans 4:5-7: But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. 6: Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, 7: Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

Matthew 1:21: And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Luke 19:10: For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Jesus Came To Save

Jesus came not to call the righteous
but sinners to repent
When he left heaven to come to earth
that was his sole intent
It's not the people who are whole
but those sick who need a physician
Jesus came to save sinners
That's why he gave the great commission

He told us to go into the all the world
and preach the gospel to every creature
Jesus came to the world to save sinners,
not just to be a good teacher
He died on the cross for all the sins of the world
that those who would on him believe
and trust his shed blood for remission of sin
would his free gift of salvation receive

To receive this wonderful gift of eternal life,
you only need to look to Jesus and live
He has already paid your sin debt
and is ready and willing to forgive
Jesus loves you so much
that he suffered and bled and died
If you've never asked him to be your savior,
then today is the day to decide

Jesus died, was buried, and rose again the third day
to save you from going to hell
That is the gospel story
the greatest story ever to tell
You only need to trust Jesus with your heart
and ask him to be your savior
He'll forgive you of all your sin and write your name in heaven
and give you abundant life and so much more

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Jesus Died For Everyone, But Not Everyone Is Saved

At Easter time many people's thoughts are on the crucifixion of Jesus and his ressurection three days later, and many people take it for granted that that means everyone in the world is going to heaven since he died for all mankind, but that's not actually true.

1 John 2:2: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
It's true that Jesus did die for everyone and that he is the propitiation for the sins of the whole world, but only those who accept His free gift of mercy are saved and have eternal life.  Jesus's death, burial, and ressurection made it possible for anyone in the world to be saved, but only the people who put their faith in him as their own personal sin bearer are saved.

In John 3:16 it says "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH in him should not perish, but have everlasting life".
There are many, many, many people in the world today who do not even believe there is a Jesus, let alone trust him as their own personal saviour, so obviously not everyone in the world is going to heaven just because Jesus died for all the sins of the whole world.

I John 5:12: "He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life." So plainly from this verse it is very clear that some people have Jesus and some people don't. And, notice how it says "He that hath the Son" and not "he that hath religion." Salvation is not through any type or any kind of religion whatsoever. Salvation is in a person. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only saviour. John 14:6 says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life:, no man cometh unto the father but by me."

Many people in America and other countries believe that Jesus is the Son of God, but they have never been born again.
John 3:3 says "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God". You can believe someone is a good doctor without going to him, or you could believe someone is a good lawyer without trusting him to handle your case. That is the same way it is with Jesus; it's not just believing about him, but believing on Him and trusting him to apply the payment made for your sins to your own life.

If someone offered you a million dollars and you didn't take it, then it wouldn't be yours. Jesus has already done everything that needs to be done and offers you the free gift of salvation. Now it is up to you if you will take it or refuse it.

John 6:35: And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life; he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. So the bread of life is available to everyone, but only those who come to Jesus and receive it, will be partakers of this bread of life.

Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

If you would like to come to Jesus today and receive this free gift of salvation which was purchased by his own blood on the cross, you may pray something like this, realizing it is not mere words that save, but your faith in Jesus Christ.

Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I know I deserve to go to Hell. But I believe that you died on the cross, were buried, and rose from the grave to pay for my sins. Please save me right now and give me eternal life. I am only trusting you Jesus. Amen

Does It Really Matter What You Believe

The answer is - It means everything what you believe. Your eternal destiny depends upon what you believe. A lot of people say "It doesn't really matter what you believe as long as you are sincere," but that is not actually the truth. There is a popular phrase nowadays that says, "Just believe, just have faith". But the question is - believe what or have faith in who. The what is a saviour from sin, and the who is Jesus Christ.

The bible says to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven.

John 14:6: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Mark 1:15: And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Repent means agreeing with God that you are a sinner who needs mercy and to believe the gospel of how Jesus died for our sins and rose again the third day for payment for them. Believing this, you then put your trust in Jesus and receive him as your very own savior.

John 3:16: For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 3:36: He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Notice how it says that he who doesn't believe on Jesus, the Son, has the wrath of God abiding on him. So you can see, therefore, how much it does matter what you believe. It's a matter of eternal life or the eternal wrath of God.

John 20:31: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

When You Believe

When you believe
it changes how you perceive
You begin to understand
only by God's grace will you see the promised land

When you believe
God's gift of salvation you receive
You understand your sinful heart needs to be cleaned
and only by Jesus' shed blood can you be redeemed

When you believe
Satan can no longer deceive
You understand the gift of eternal life is free
since Jesus died for your sins upon the cruel tree

When you believe
the burden of your sin is relieved
your darkness turns to light
and your black heart washed pure white

When you believe, when you believe, all things become new,
you become God's child, one of His redeemed few

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

Who Is Condemned To Hell

Who is condemned to Hell? Most people would probably think of people who are really bad, like murderers, etc., but the bible has a different answer. The bible says in

John 3:18: "He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." The only thing you have to do to be condemned is to just be alive and have never put your trust in Jesus to save you. We are all sinners, no matter how much or how little. It is only by God's grace and mercy that we could ever be saved from the condemnation that is sentenced upon us. No one is good enough to go to heaven on their own merit.

We are saved when we trust in Jesus and believe on his name, as the verse in John 3:18 says that
"He that believeth on him is not condemned."

But what does it mean to believe on Jesus? It means you acknowledge that you are a sinner and are condemned already and then put your trust in Jesus and believe in your heart that he died for your sins, paying the price for them, and rose again the third day and went back to Heaven, from where he came.

Putting your trust in Jesus is like putting money in a safe; it wasn't always there, you put it there and are relying on it to keep it there. That's how you put your trust in Jesus and rely on him, not yourself, to get you to heaven. It's that simple, friend. It is not by turning over a new leaf, trusting in your own good works, trying to quit sinning, going to church, keeping the golden rule, or trusting in anything else you could possibly do.   No matter how hard we try to be good, the bible says we all fall short.

Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."
Salvation is a free gift that is paid for by God, purchased with the blood of Jesus Christ.

When we admit we're a sinner and put our trust in what Jesus did for us, we receive God's mercy and are saved from having to pay for our own sins.

So therefore, John 3:18 divides the world into two groups, those who believe and those who believe not. Those who believe are not condemned and those who believe not are already condemned.
John 3:36: He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Remember, to believe on does not mean "Oh yeah, I've always believed in Jesus". It means a certain time in your life when you call upon the Lord to save you, when you put your trust in Jesus, to rely on him and depend on him to get you to heaven and to forgive your sins. The moment you put your trust in him is what the bible calls being "born again", because you are passed from death unto life. You were a lost sinner, condemned and on your way to Hell, now you have Jesus as your saviour and have been given the free gift of eternal life and are on your way to heaven.

John 3:3: Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

John 5:24: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even them that believe on his name.

Romans 10:9-10: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 10:13: For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

If you would like to call upon the name of Jesus and receive him as your saviour you may pray something like this, realizing it is not mere words that save, but your faith in Jesus Christ.

Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I know I deserve to go to Hell. But I believe that you died on the cross, were buried, and rose from the grave to pay for my sins. Please save me and take me to Heaven when I die. Amen

Thoughts On Christian Suffering

James 5:10-11: Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. Behold, we count them happy which endure.
Phillippians 1:29: For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;
Phillippians 3:10: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.
Acts 14:22: Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

The Christian life brings joy unspeakable and full of glory and gives a peace that the world could never give. When we go through tribulations and trials Jesus goes with us. He suffered for us and knows how to comfort us in all our troubles.

John 16:33: These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
I Peter 1:8: Whom having not seen, ye love: in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.
John 14:16-17 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever: Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Matthew 5:4: Blessed are they that mourn; for they shall be comforted.

This is very contrary to what the health, wealth, and prosperity false prophets preach, but this is the way of fellowship with Jesus and great joy and peace and comfort now, and even more joy when we get to Heaven for all eternity.

Joy And Peace

There is a deep peace down within my soul
For I know I've been forgiven and my name's on Heaven's roll
I've got the joy, joy, joy down in my heart
for my savior did not forsake me, he's been there from the start

He has always been with me since I first believed
and so many blessings from him I have received
My savior kept me in his hand like he promised he would
and when I could not understand he worked it out for good

At times when my journey on earth seemed to be long
he upheld me in his arms and gave to me a song
Praise the Lord, Jesus stayed with me to the very end
He was there through the rough times and his love he did extend

Words cannot express how I love my savior so
for his tender mercies do forever continuously flow
He remembered me when my way I could not find
He was there all the time and I was always on his mind

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
